The mainstream media needs to be burned to the fucking ground and rebuilt...or not rebuilt. Would it be so bad if the general public just went through their lives not knowing, or caring, about the heinous shit and dastardly deeds that are being done in their names? And done to them? And to their children? All so that the obscenely rich can get more obscene?

Oh wait, that's what we have now, right? I mean, the general public doesn't realize they are being lied to on a daily, if not hourly, basis, and probably wouldn't give a crap if you told them about it. As long as they can get their sixty-four ounce slushies and a sack of pork rinds at the 7-11 on the corner, they're pretty damned happy. They'll just go through their lives thinking "Well, sure gas is probably going to be over $4.50 a gallon for the rest of my life...hell by the time little Bobby-Joe here is old enough to drive he won't be able to fill the tank of his car without offering to suck-off the owner of the gas station...but thank jeebus that oil companies like Exxon are just plowing all of their profits into finding me and mine some more oil, right? They deserve whatever they can get. We should let them befoul the Artic and drill right off the end of the goddamned Santa Monica pier if that's what it takes to get our oil. I mean, where else are they going to look for that black gold?"

Well, how about the over 60 MILLION ACRES of public lands that the oiligarchy already holds leases on that they refuse to explore because they say it would be too costly. Too fucking costly to a business in which just one of the competing (HAH!) companies has posted $12 billion in profit for one quarter. Too costly. Maybe they could afford to explore those leases if they chose to put more money into R&D and less into executive compensation. That's right, the oil pimps dole out more cash to their executive management than they put into Research & Development. You know why? Because, like a dog, they can. And of course they continue to line the pockets of the politicians on both sides of the aisle...if there even is an aisle any more. Like any good pimp, they have to keep their best whores happy and well fed.

But I digress. What I really wanted to say was, fuck the media.
